A Fall Poch Decor idea for outside that will help to inspire your autumn decorating. This fall front porch is decorated with mums, pumpkins garland, and a wreath.

One of the many things that I love about our home is the front porch. I have a lot of fun decorating it for each season. This fall’s decorations have to be my favorite thus far. Come along as I explain how I hung the garland and where I got all my decor from.
Fall Porch Decor

We have a nice size front porch so I could have totally gone overboard with the fall decor. But I have been thinking less is more lately, I’m sure that won’t be the case when it comes time for Christmas.

As hubby and I were out shopping at one of my favorite decor stores the At Home store. I found this orange pumpkin and knew I had to have it. It’s made out of resin so I’ll be able to use it for years to come.
Once I brought it home that’s when I started to put together my idea for the fall porch decor.

That is also when I decided that I needed to add more pumpkins but I wanted multiple sizes and colors. So I headed back to the At Home store and picked up the red, white, and green pumpkins.
I didn’t want to add real pumpkins at this point because they wouldn’t last all season. Later I may add some but those will be more on the steps and not part of this fall porch decor.

Wanting to keep the doorway as uniform as possible. I added the same type of pots with the same color of mums on both sides of the doorway.
This summer I had planted the black planters with many different flowers. Thinking that I could use the black planter to hold mums I removed all the flowers but the ivy.
Doesn’t the ivy look lovely hanging over the side of the planter box? Cascading down around the other mums and onto the pumpkins?
The other four flower pots with mums I had. And by adding two of them into metal buckets this added another element to the look.
Then there is the cute truck welcome doormat that I found last year at Kirkland’s. This summer I found the black and white check doormat at Hobby Lobby. It adds a nice layered element to the front door.
How To Hang Garland

Hanging garland at Christmas has been a trick. Last year or the year before my husband added hooks around the door frame for garland. Now they work great when I have garland up. However, I don’t want to keep taking them in and out of the wood so they are up all year long.
Wanting something that wasn’t permanent I set out to search Amazon. Finding this garland hanger that adjusts to fit in any doorway. In the image, you can see I still have the hooks up.

I wanted to make sure that the garland hanger will work during Christmas before I take them out. Then we can fill in the holes and give the door frame a much need paint job.
This garland hanger was so easy to install and so far has worked wonderfully.

The garland is wrapped around the hooks of the hanger at the corners, so that won’t be going anywhere. In order for the garland to stay in place in the middle of the door.
Finishing Touches
I twisted pipe cleaners around the end of the garland and twisted that around the hanger. I ended up using two garlands to get this look that I got from Hobby Lobby. One for each side of the doorway that both ends in the middle of the door.

Not wanting to add a lot, but wanting a little more to the garland I added pumpkins at the corners of the door.
The pumpkins are also from Hobby Lobby. They are twisted together with a pipe cleaner that is then twisted onto the garland hanger. By using decor that I had and buying most things on sale. This fall porch decor didn’t cost me much money.

Adding the Home fall sign I made finished the look I was after for this fall porch decor.
