If you are at all like me you feel you have better things to do then clean. I mean who wants to spend all Saturday cleaning their home when there are better ways to enjoy your weekend.
I have 10 cleaning tips that will help so you don’t have to spend all day cleaning.
Clean A Little Each Day
The first tip is clean a little each day. In order to not get overwhelmed with maintaining a clean house, I find it easiest if I clean a little each day. Plus if I clean a little each day I don’t have to spend all Saturday cleaning.

Making your bed first thing in the morning gives you an easy clean mindset for the rest of the day. Not to mention you start your day off accomplishing something which gives you motivation all day.
Dishes are endless but are a must-do to help maintain a tidy home. In our home, we start the day by taking care of the clean dishes that are in the dishwasher. As the day goes and dishes get dirtied they can be placed into the dishwasher. That way there are no dirty dishes sitting out.
Keep the kitchen cleaned and organized. Being a food blogger over at My Creative Manner, I spend a lot of time in my kitchen. I like to have it clean and well organized. Keeping it organized I will admit can be a challenge but I’m working on that.
Clean as you go, I’m a huge fan of clean as you go when I’m cooking type of person. So when I’m in the kitchen making dinner and I’m done using a dish it goes into the dishwasher. Then once dinner is finished clean up goes smoother.
Daily sweeping, has been a chore for the kids for some time now. Daily sweeping definitely helps make the home feel cleaner.
Let’s Talk Clutter
Minimize clutter, to help minimize clutter a good rule is to put everything away immediately. One of my bad habits is after shopping I will pile up the bags in a corner of the kitchen.
Then I get overwhelmed by the pile and may not want to take care of it. However, if I take care of it right away then there is no getting overwhelmed.
I have been watching some minimalist on Youtube and love some of their tips on minimizing clutter. One of the tips that stands out to me is “have I used this item in the last year”?
At this point, I don’t feel like I will become a minimalist. But I do see myself going through areas in my home with this question in mind. This question will help minimize the clutter.
No Shoes in the house, has been a rule for a long time in our home. Think about where you wear your shoes out in public. Now think about where you go in your home without shoes. Do you want to wear shoes that have been in public tracked all over your home?
Cleaning Habits For A Cleaner Home
Cleaning habits for a cleaner home doesn’t just have to be the areas of the home that others see. Well, maybe this next one others will see.
Keeping The Bathroom Clean is a cleaning habit for a cleaner home that is important in fighting germs. Or at least I feel that way. Having a clean bathroom has always been at the top of my must-do list.

A quick daily wipe down of the sink and toilet seat does wonder’s for the bathroom. Then a deeper clean at least once a week is also helpful.
Or if you have multiple bathrooms you could break up the cleaning schedules. Have one day for toilets, another day for sinks, and another day for showers.
Clothes ~ Getting clothes washed and put away will definitely help make the home feel cleaner. I will admit I’m not a fan of putting clothes away after they are washed. But there is something rewarding about getting this task accomplished.
On the positive side, if I put the clothes away then I won’t have a pile waiting for me. If there is a pile of clothes it will be like that pile of shopping bags sitting in the kitchen. The pile will make me feel overwhelmed and less likely to put them away.
I hope these 10 Cleaning Habits For A Cleaner Home was helpful to you.
